Book setting

Having trouble with the setting of the book Kizzy Ann Stamps can anyone help me explain the setting

The setting is the time and place a story takes place.  You can generally find the setting of a story within the first few pages of the first chapter.  

 

In this story, the setting is the summer of 1963 in Virginia.  The Virginia setting transitions between the small farm house, the white school, and Mr. McKenna's house.

 

If you have not read the entire book, you may not know the transitions.  Therefore, re-read the first few pages and select the appropriate setting up to where you have read.
