What does the statement reveal about the monster? What is he saying? He notices that the youth works very hard. For whatever reason, the monster wants to help. He has obviously been with the family for some period of time.
You can eliminate answers, by checking their validity against the statement, viz:
Does the monster say anything about humans being pathetic and weak? Nope.
Does he say anything about having power over mankind? Nope.
Does it sound like he is trying to make friends and influence people? N.
He wants to do the right thing...help the family, especially the youth.
