If their experiment is finished; they look to make sure that the evidence obtained in the experiment supported their hypothesis within the standard deviation set in the parameters of the experiment, "and" that their experiment(s) can be reproduced by others with the same outcome.
simplistic answer but essentially correct. If an experiment can not be reproduced with the same supporting evidentiary conclusion, then their hypothesis remains just that, a hypothesis that has not been proven.
