Belief is the more important than skill, ability, or knowledge in accomplishing any goal. Once you believe you can, you will figure out how; but if you have not even convinced your own mind that it is possible, you will surely fail. There are myriad examples of how belief prevails, from the 'Burn the Boats' story of the 300, the Revolutionary War, the Olympian with a medal, the survivor of an accident told they will never walk again who is now walking, to every toddler who attempts their first step. It is belief that makes people step out of their comfort zones to try something new; ask any new business owner who left a steady paycheck to bet on themselves or any surgeon making their first unsupervised cut. Nobody would even want a chef who did not believe in their ability to cook a good meal! I know what it looks like allow doubt to win over belief; it is crippling and demoralizing. It takes a great deal of introspection to determine the root of the fear and then yank it out. Once you overcome this lack of belief in yourself, you will soar.
