Some students need help in more than one area, such as math and reading. Rather than working with two separate tutors, it can be much more convenient for a student to learn both subjects from the sane tutor.

Yes, this is definitely possible! One of my favorite things to do in the classroom is integrating subjects. This is when two or more subjects are taught together and connections are made between the two. This can be done through the use of graphic organizers to answer mathematical questions or by having students use various reading strategies to answer word problems. There are many possibilities for integrating these two subjects!
There may be times where it is better for students to work on reading or math independently of one another, but connections can always be made between the two!

Teaching both subjects allows the tutor to "cross over" during sessions, such as working on reading through math word problems, or building word decoding skills while reading about math strategies.
