The geographic landscape of the Philippines generates soil erosion incidents— such as flooding and landslide— to a great extent, causing heightened difficulties for mining companies, farmers, and ordinary citizens. In this research, a variety of people will benefit― engineers, farmers, cultivators, and scientists or future researches due to the nature of this research discussing the ways to keep soil in place and prevent it from being transported. This research will contribute to the prevention of soil erosion through soil permeability with the assistance of plants. This investigation will address the most effective fibrous plants among Thysanolaena maxima, or more commonly known as tiger grass, Bambusa compacta,or more commonly known as compacta bamboo, andDuranta repens, or more commonly known as golden bush, regarding water absorption. This concept builds upon the various insights taken from multiple researches from the engineering and agriculture field to mitigate soil erosion, especially during the rainy season. Therefore, soil erosion caused by factors like temperature, weather, and human activities, may be controlled by plants with fibrous roots regardless of soil type, since fibrous roots thrive on different kinds of soil.
