Greetings! Lets solve this shall we ?
So, we must find the values of x and y (if applicable) such that we use substitution such that
-2x=4-y
8-2y=x
-------------
-2(8-2y) = 4-y............Then distribute the -2 inside such that
-16 + 4y = 4 - y.............Then add y such that
-16 + 5y = 4.........Then add 16 to both sides such that
5y = 20............Then divide 5 such that
y = 4
Then plug 4 into the equation to get 8-2(4) = x = 0. Since we obtained one solution, the system is A) Consistent, Independent.
I hope this helped!
