What makes the sugar in milk taste sour in yogurt?
To solve this, we need to design an experiment to test for this.
- Material
- Milk (Whole milk with all sugar and fat)
- Container with sealed lid.
- yogurt
- Procedure
First, we will pour milk in to 3 containers labeling A, B, C. In A, we will allow the milk to sit out on the counter for one full day with no lid. B will be covered and left on the counter too. C will get a spoonful of yogurt mixed in.
In two days, record the results.
- Conclusion
A should have gotten bacteria from the surrounding air which will make it convert sugar to the sour yogurt. The sealed milk should have no change. C should look and taste sour like the original yogurt.
