asked 05/21/22Question about harmonic oscillation of a pendulum clock
A pendulum clock - is a clock that uses a pendulum, a swinging weight, as its timekeeping element.
Pendulum's amplitude of oscillation decreases with the stretching of the spring. How does the accuracy of the clock change?

Recall the formula for the period of oscillation, T, of a pendulum of length L:
A longer pendulum swings slower. So changing the length L of the pendulum changes the period T, which affects the timekeeping accuracy. To better answer your question, I will need more details!

Could you be more "accurate"? Are you talking about sPring or sTring ? If you stretch the spring, its amplitude is increasing. It is decreasing, when you compressed it. The period of oscillation of the spring does not depend on its amplitude.05/22/22
