They share a similarity, but they are not the same thing. Finding a name interesting means the name appeals to someone. Being obsessed with a name is much stronger than simply finding it appealing. It is more like someone is completely drawn to the name to the point where it's the only name they are considering because they cannot stop thinking about it nor are they interested in any other names. To be obsessed is to be so fixated on and heavily drawn to something that someone cannot or will not focus on anything else.
