Which sentence would be more grammatically correct?

"More light should be brung on to this issue because it is proven that schools over-discipline black students and that results in negative outcomes that will continue to be negative if we don’t do anything about it."

OR

"More light should be brung on to this issue because it is proven that schools over-discipline black students and it results in negative outcomes that will continue to be negative if we don’t do anything about it."

I agree with this answer except I would change "that results" to "this results". I would change "brung on to this" to "shown on this." I like the "has been proven" change.
