I believe that the level and area of interest of my student is very important, but in my experience a relaxed and friendly atmosphere is indispensable for the teaching-learning process. Speaking a foreign language is also a communication process, and communication implies self-expression. We only express ourselves effectively when we feel comfortable and confident.
What sort of Spanish experience have you had? What stands out about your teaching approach?

Spanish Tutor for All Ages
I am a fluent Spanish speaker, born in Peru and now living in NYC, who has taught a wide range of ages, including 8 and 9 year olds. I run sessions both live and virtually (preferred), and have worked with individual students, as well as groups of 3 and 4 at once. I have helped young children rehabilitate through art, and have also helped high school juniors and seniors to prepare for tests/exams. My teaching approach, especially for younger ages, involves engaging them in fun and exciting activities that gets them to move their bodies, sing, dance, and make art, all EN ESPANOL!
We don't just write, we create stories. We don't just practice vocabulary, we make drawings to help us remember words. And we don't just learn during our session, we carry Spanish into our everyday life beyond our learning sessions, via fun educational tasks/calendars and through "Show and Tell" presentations of things we make or do with our families and communities. VAMOS! - Let's go! 😃🤸🏽♀️🥳
