A thesis sentence will generally do one of two things: (1) answer a question, or (2) persuade someone of something. In this case, I would choose one of the questions below and answer it in your own words, including the title and authors in your answer. Your answer would be your thesis.
a. What might confuse people about racism in All American Boys? Explain the answer they don't understand (as if you're teaching them about the book.)
b. How do the authors make it clear that the book is about racism?
c. What are the authors' opinions on racism, and how do you know?
d. How does All American Boys help readers understand something else (like certain historical events, common experiences, etc.)?
