2.The probability that a teenager likes pizza is 0.8, and the probability that a teenager likes

broccoli is 0.25. If only 2 out of 10 teenagers enjoy pizza AND broccoli, what is the

probability that a teenager likes either pizza or broccoli?

Well suppose we take a sample of 100 teenagers

Of these (2/10) x 100 = 20 like pizza and broccoli

0.8 x 100 = 80 like pizza, so 80-20 = 60 like pizza only

0.25 x 100 = 25 like broccoli, so 25 - 20 = 5 like broccoli only

So 60 + 5 + 20 = 85 like pizza or broccoli so probability = 85/100 = 0.85
