Freddy, there are a couple of aspects here, and I’ll give a hint on one of them. (1) how can we figure something simple, (2) how do we figure which quadrant, etc.
Hint for (1): Whenever you’re looking at a textbook or big test or competition, first see if you can make a right triangle with 3 integer sides. Remember 3-4-5 right triangles? This isn’t one. But if you will use the Pythagorean theorem on the two legs, 8 and 15, you get a nice integer for the hypotenuse! Now you know all the sides of a right triangle, you can just read them out, so all the functions are simple fractions.
