Hi Daquita,
If the inequality has a single solution, then we use the equality symbol.
a. h=52
My questions to you;
- How would you read the symbol ≥?
- How would you read the symbol ≤?
- If the question mentioned that "your height must be at least 52 inches, which symbol would you use? Why?
b. It is always customary to show equally spaced tick marks on the number line; customary to show at least 3 consecutive numbers above and below the number in the question; solution/s must be shown on the number line and not above or below the number line; if there is more than one solution, there will be a 3rd arrow on the number line showing which direction points to all solutions.
So, for b, draw a horizontal line with arrows on both ends, show numbers from 45 to 54 and draw a closed visible dot on the number line for the position 52.
I encourage you to attend tutoring to get a better understanding when you have more than one question. I see that you have a lot of questions in this topic Inequality.
