I meant like how do you read them and not what they are for example do you have to pause or what when you see a question mark? when you see a quotation mark do you just read like you normally do if so how do people know from your speech that there was a quotation mark? and so on for the other punctuation marks too

I misunderstood how you used the word "read." Another meaning of "read" is to interpret or use them. I guess some of them have special ways to read or not them, as follows below: Period you take a longer breath between sentences or sometimes your voice might fall a bit 2)comma sometimes the voice falls off to show that the part before and after the comma don't have the same value, for example, Going down the street, he saw her. The second part will be more emphasized with the voice. 3)semi colon the voice makes a distinction example: the weather will get worse; it will snow more probably the last part will be louder or emphasized more 4)colon after the colon the pause is probably longer. 5)question mark the voice rises toward the end 6)exclamation mark the voice accentuates the part that is exclaiminig 7)hyphen not sure how this is spoken 8)en dash ??????? 9)em dash ??????? 10)brackets lower level of voice 11)braces ASK THE ORTHODONTIST. ;-) 12)parenthesis less accentuation 13)apostrophe don't know 14)quotation mark suggest another person's tone or words 15)ellipsis not sure
