Daisy herself is the embodiment of the American dream, the thing that Gatsby yearns for. She wants to enjoy all the glitz and glamour of life, but there isn't any real substance behind her facade of beauty. She does have feelings for Gatsby, but he has fallen for the idea of her and the real Daisy is no longer enough for him. So, she chooses to stay with Tom in the end and have money and financial security.
She says she hopes her daughter will be a "beautiful little fool," perhaps wishing that her daughter will be carefree and swept into the culture. She knows that life in those days is hard for strong-willed and more independent girls. Perhaps Daisy's dream is the same that she wishes for her daughter.
Hope this helps! I'm happy to meet and discuss The Great Gatsby with you further, it's one of my favorites to study!
