Hi, Swadha! Sentence three is incorrect because the verb discuss is not a prepositional verb. The correct form would be: I discussed my problem with my parents. This is definitely confusing, because replacing the verb discuss with the verb talk would require the preposition about: I talked about my problem with my parents. The best way to understand the usage of these two verbs, discuss and talk, is to realize that the verb discuss is a more specific verb that indicates that you shared, investigated, analyzed and expounded upon an idea with someone, while the verb talk is a more general verb that simply means speaking words out loud when it is not given more context. When you consider that discuss already indicates that you talk about something, then it becomes more clear why you do not need to use a preposition. I hope that helps!
