I would start by breaking down the questions to be less wordy.
- How does the author depict the past and the present in the poem? what is the relationship between the two
- what was the past like in the poem
- what is the present like in the poem? how is it different from the past?
- What impact does recalling the past have on the poem? Does recalling the past from the poem still matter today?
I would then go through the poem, stanza by stanza and breaking down the meaning in each stanza. Use these meanings, specifically how they relate to the past and the present, to answer the questions
