As we read in The Final Battle, Beowulf finally met his demise but lived on through legend. Discuss a hero who is no longer alive but whose story has lived on.

Even if we only live for a certain number of years, our actions can live forever.  A hero's actions and good deeds will not be forgotten by the people he/she helped or influenced. They will also tell their descendants, so events will stay in our minds for a long time.

An example from modern history and literature is the connection between President John F. Kennedy and the story, Camelot.  In Camelot, King Arthur gave his people hope and new, exciting ways of looking at society.  President Kennedy's time in office was often referred to as "Camelot."
