The key is to think of the vocabulary words a story map. To begin this assignment, I would list the defintions as you did.
Exorbitant (adj.) unreasonably high; excessive
Interim (n.) the time between
Inundate (v.) to flood, overflow; to overwhelm by numbers or size
Malign (v.) to speak evil of, slander
Meander (v.) to wander about, wind about
- Pick a key word - the word you think you can write the strongest story about
- For me, this word would be an action word such as "meander"
- Determine the order that your story will take place in according to the vocab words
- For me - inundate, malign, exorbitant, meander, interim
- Write out brief ideas for each of the words:
- Inundate - too many people in the city
- Malign - they were not good people
- exorbitant - did a lot of bad things
- meander - wander to a new city, leave town, explore
- interim - the time between I left and when I got to a new place
- Then, use this outline to craft a story.
I hope this helps!
