Hello Keondre,
It sounds like you might not have started your paper with an outline. What I would suggest that you do is create a reverse outline for your paper so that you may take a step back and re-evaluate your argument.
A reverse outline is when you take a written paper and create an outline based off of what is already there versus creating an outline beforehand. You will have to set up the basic format:
Intro -
Thesis:
BP1-
BP2-
(etc for as many body paragraphs as you need)
Conclusion-
You will find that this method is an excellent way to get back on track.
IF YOU DID HAVE AN OUTLINE BEFOREHAND:
Try various brainstorming methods such as thinking about why you chose this paper topic, what interests you about it? What did you learn? What did you know already?
Try writing down what you're thinking in a stream of consciousness style, don't think about it, and read what you wrote and see what you can garner from that.
Best of luck!
