The problem is relevant to two separate functions: f(x) and g(x). f(x) = g(x) occurs when the two functions intercept. Here to find the value of x we simply solve: 6x-5 = -2+3 → x = (-2+3+5)/6 → x=1. Therefore, the two functions intercept at x = 1. To solve the other two problems simply set 'x' to zero on the first one and evaluate the function. For the second one I would graph the function and visually assess when f(x) is greater than zero; there should be multiple values.
