The biggest change between the two novels (besides TKAM was brilliant and GSAW was drivel) was the moral fiber of Atticus. In the former, Atticus was a moral and righteous man, in the latter, he was a lawyer who took a case as required. Atticus did not believe in any way that "negroes" where equal to others.
