When it comes to being a lifetime learner, people have to understand that we all learn differently, if not similarly. There are many ways to learn a new skill and to put it into practice. What works for one writer may not work for the other, but the through line is this. The basics are the foundation for breaking conventions and building unconventional yet practical and still creative approaches to writing. The process becomes informed by your own voice while using the staying power of literary devices and mechanics.
