In fact, both are perfectly acceptable if the intention is to use the passive voice. Most often, though, it is best to remain in the active voice, especially in writing.

Hi,
To transform the active sentence, "He, sometimes, does the shopping into passive voice, it should read:
1) The shopping is sometimes done by him. (It would be more correct to place the adverb sometimes, directly next to the verb for flow of thought.)
OR set it apart by a comma as you have already written.
2) Sometimes, the shopping is done by him.
