The key is to use only the most vital search terms, and throw in anything that clarifies the type of search you desire. I threw in the word "etymology" and found an answer in six minutes: Huey P. Newton claims that he and the Black Panther Party coined the phrase "All power to the people" in the 1960s. He makes this claim in his autobiography Revolutionary Suicide. The phrase got co-opted by the counterculture movement and, later, computer programmers, who bent it to their particular meanings.
