asked 02/21/19Why do I feel the need to not have choice?
Whenever I try to make a decision, I always think of the robotic way of thinking of the human way. As in, why do I always try to get some algorithm figure out the best answer? For example, I would think 'Do A, No A then Do B, No B then Do C'
instead of 'Ah B looks like a good choice' does anybody know why I'm like this?

The fact that you asked the question is a great start! I recommend reading more about making decisions. I recommend the following Malcolm Gladwell's books Blink and Tipping Point.

Hi Isabella,
Your question caught my attention as I have reflected extensively on the logic used in decision making over many years using everything from formal research methods to informal conversations with people from all backgrounds. Recently I have begun to elaborate in writing on the topic and how it relates to our place in the natural world. Although I don't have an easy answer based on facts that come from professional studies to write to you in this forum, I would be more than happy to discuss this with you as it relates to your own experiences!
Sincerely,
Tracy

Over time, you have experienced a good outcome from your process, whether intentionally or not, which increases the probability that you will reproduce the behavior the next time you are in a situation to make choices. Antecedent-Behavior-Consequence03/17/19
