Hi, I was given about ten possible essay topics for my final exam and a few of them will be chosen. I have made outlines for all of them, but I need help outlining this one.

Two revolutions stood at the chronological center of this course: industrialization and the rise of popular sovereignty. Though these revolutions sometimes accompanied each other, these two types of revolution didn't always happen side by side. Pick one of these two revolutions and use it to discuss: 1) the difference between our 21st-century world and the world of 1500 and 2) how it impacted in particular historical events since the 1700s. Make sure to answer the question with examples from around the globe rather than just from Europe. Also make sure to draw on material from throughout the entire course.

This prompt speaks of 2 revolutions.  The Industrial Revolution seems easily understood, and there's a wealth of material dealing with it.  Honestly, I think I know what the teacher means by "the rise of popular sovereignty" (and I hope you do), but I'm not entirely sure.  My first suggestion is to go with the easier "revolution"- Industrial.

 

From there, it seems fairly simple to describe how the Industrial Revolution has brought differences between the 2000s and the 1500s.  There's a huge difference!  Regarding "historical events", consider how differently wars have been fought.  The hard part may be finding examples from outside America and Europe, but I'm sure you covered them.
