I would say "d) compound-complex" is the correct answer to your question because the sentence Unless it's quiet, I won't be able to think , [sic] so please turn down that music contains a subordinate/dependent clause, namely Unless it's quiet, joined to a main or independent clause, I won't be able to think, and therefore the sentence is complex. But this sentence also includes a second main/independent clause, so please turn down that music (though some people might argue that any sentence beginning with so cannot "stand by itself," but I would disagree with that), hence I won't be able to think, so please turn down that music would be an example of a compound sentence, and therefore the whole of the sentence in your question is compound-complex.
