If I were to add to Sherry's answer with an analogy, I'd point out that only answers (A) and (D) refer to methods of communication within the body, and communication is what a telephone does. With that in mind, it only becomes a matter of how quickly the communication occurs. (A) The endocrine system communicates fairly slowly. That's why you don't necessarily get an immediate notification from your stomach that you've overeaten, for example. It's somewhat like a post office, so the endocrine system communicates with the speed of snail mail. (D) The nervous system communicates instantaneously in real time. This is the most like a telephone, where you get immediate transmission of messages. Thus, the answer must be (D), as Sherry said.
