Assume you have to score x% in the second exam.

 

In first exam the score was 60%. This is 30% of overall module. So the score towards overall module is

 

60/100*30 = 18%

 

Overall score has to be 40% so score needed from second exam is 40-18 = 22%

 

Hence % needed in second test is 

 

(70/100)*x = 22

x = 22*100/70 = 220/7 = 31.4%

 

So 31.4% is needed in second test
