Are you looking for a MCAT tutor?

Hi, I'm Hong! I graduated from Stanford with Bachelor and Masters in Biology, and I'm currently pursuing an MD/MBA from Virginia Tech Carilion SOM.

One of my greatest strengths is tutoring and mentoring. I've worked with students from a wide range of educational backgrounds. In college, I mentored a middle school student from a first gen, low income background, and I guided / tutored younger classmates who have struggled with ADHD affecting their grades. My tutoring experience includes SAT/ACT prep and high school and college applications guidance, and my experience spans more than 6 years with a mix of both in person and remote. The past 2 years, I've tutored students in MCAT prep, which has been primarily remote and one-on-one, given the convenience for both my students and me.

Through my own MCAT journey (MCAT: 516, 94%ile), I've developed a strategic, high-yield approach that maximizes efficiency and performance. Success on the MCAT is about understanding how the AAMC designs questions, recognizing patterns, and applying the right reasoning strategies under time constraints. I teach my students, who range from undergraduates to post-graduates, how to break down CARS passages with precision, tackle the most challenging Bio/Biochem and Chem/Phys questions with confidence, and avoid common traps in Psych/Soc.

Beyond content mastery, I emphasize the importance of active learning techniques. I show you how to study smarter by focusing on the strategies that actually improve retention and test-day performance. Whether you need to boost a specific section or develop a comprehensive study plan, I provide the insight and mentorship needed to turn ambition into a top MCAT score.
