I see this question is rather old, but I'll answer for any others currently dealing with a similar issue.
The short answer is yes, screen sharing would be the easiest way to allow your mentor to see what you are doing in real time. You cannot do this directly through the app, but potentially through a video call application such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or Skype.
Alternatively, there is also a feature to work on the notes together through the "Shared Notes" feature. You have to set the appropriate permissions to allow others to edit and view the document then choose to add collaborators. You can then add them from contacts or create a shareable link and send it to them to join from.
