Social media is generally not recommended for children and adolescents, and it is certainly unnecessary when researching a topic. At the very least, they will be inundated with fake news and opinion. Worse damage is possible; research has shown that high school students who frequently use social media are more prone to negativity and depression. It's easy to get caught up in social media and lose focus on being productive with schoolwork. It's preferable for your child to go to reputable educational websites to find information relevant to writing research papers. Please note that Wikipedia can be written by anyone, and it is not considered to be a reputable educational source. National Geographic, Discovery Kids, and online encyclopedias are wiser choices.
