How do I improve my CARS score?

This is one of the most frequently asked questions for the MCAT. Whether you have a month left to study or you're just getting started it really important to have these three things in mind:

1. Understand the CARS section is comprehensive heavy rather than intuition heavy
2. Identify then attack your weaknesses i.e. timing, engagement etc...
3. Practice frequently and accurately

By far the most important thing about CARS is understanding that each answer is supported by the passage: if you can't point to where the passage supports your answer, you are not picking the right answer.

Another thing, ensure that the answer you are choosing is supportable by information in the passage. Students make the mistake of thinking "outside" the passage, when AAMC logic dictates the opposite. Good luck everyone!

I definitely agree with this, especially practicing. It is so important to do lots of practice questions and then review them to figure out why the correct answer is correct and the other answers are wrong. I also think it is sometimes helpful to get in the mindset of the question writers. I know that helped me to be more objective when answering.
