Would the man in “To Build a Fire” would have been justified if he has successfully killed his dog

That depends on your perspective. If you believe in the supremacy of man over beast, sure. On the other hand, the man in the story isn't very nice to the dog. If he had been nice to the dog, it would have come to him when he called it and kept him warm.
