What are the connections between Metabolism and Biochemistry?

I had a question where if I had to summarize the connections between metabolism (processes and in general) with biochemistry (Alkanes, alkyl halides, alcohols, etc etc), what would be some connections and examples that we can use to explain this further?

When you mention Biochemistry, you liken it to alkanes, alkyl halides, alcohols, etc. But those categories are more allied to Organic Chemistry than they are to Biochemistry. So, before I attempt an answer, I want to make sure you are posing the correct question.

Surely, there's bits of organic chemistry involved into biochemistry. So is there a connection between organic chemistry, biochemistry and metabolism?

Yes. Organic chemistry is the chemistry of compounds that contain carbon (C). Biochemistry is the chemistry of biological systems. Metabolism is the study of synthesis (anabolism) and degradation (catabolism) of chemicals in a biological system. So, you can see that they are all related and inter-related.
