Is it correct to call a return gift a prize ?

I would define a “prize” as something that is won either by being the best in something or winning a contest of some sorts. For example, “He came in first place at the race and his prize was a gold medal.”

I would define a “return gift” as a thank you gift or something you give someone to show appreciation. For example, “she loved the homemade cookies so much that she gave him a return gift of homemade pumpkin bread.”

I need more context, but usually a prize is something you win. I'm not sure what you mean by "return gift," but if you didn't win it, I wouldn't call it a prize.
