Churchill described Russia in his Iron Curtain Speech as a communist Soviet Union only focused on expansion of their communist ideals. He held this speech in the US because he was worried that the US would withdraw from international affairs. He was hoping to achieve a better sense of unification among the western non-Soviet Union countries to fight against the expansion of communism.
