I believe that having and conducting small-group communication is important because it allows for the group members to be more engaged and active in the conversation. In large groups, it is difficult to conduct conversation because there are many people that have many different thoughts. This can lead to some group members feeling as if they do not have to talk because they won't be able to get a word in or it isn't important for them to talk. However, in small groups, the members are more likely to speak because it is more intimate and comfortable. They also don't have to feel like they are talking over others or pushing themselves into the conversation. The conversation will flow more as everyone has more of a chance to discuss.
