Literary Elements
Dream Big Little One is one of the best quality literary pieces for children, as it is about 18 powerful African American women in history. The book is an inspiration for children among women; one can find encouraging stories for children (Harrison 2018). Regarding passage analysis, it is vivid that the book carries so much positivity, with so many carefully chosen words for children, as such. In as much as inclusivity was limited, the author incorporated so many non-stereotypical scenarios, making sure that both the passage and the book resonated with the young girls. Goodnight Moon by Margaret Brown is one of the poor quality books, with most of the passages lacking a distinct plot, thus making it hard for one to understand (Brown & Hurd 1997). Nonetheless, repetition was largely used, which came from naming all the items in the room, with the passage selected repeating all the items. I would not read this book to children since it bears no meaning, has no flow of thought, and is pretty much nonsensical.
Denouement
The 225 words in the Very Hungry Caterpillar fable are all illustrated in vibrant colors. As a result, the narrative follows a caterpillar as it consumes various foods, including ice cream, watermelon, one slice of Swiss cheese, and a lollypop, before pupating and transforming into a butterfly (Carle, 2000). The tale educates the audience about the life cycle of a butterfly, counting to five, the names of the days of the week, and the many food types consumed throughout these times through this conclusion. Denouement showed the significance of taking a step at a time, and the beauty in going through different phases of life, as one would emerge victorious and colorful like a butterfly. If the storyline was to change to give forth a different outcome, emerging as colorful as a butterfly would not come to light.
