Another way you might approach writing a thesis statement is to examine the two parts of the claim you have already presented. What is it about the specific way in which Hamlet approaches revenge that elevates what could have otherwise been a simple thriller into an existential mediation? To answer this question you can look at particular moments in the text--for example, Hamlet' state of mind prior to being spurred on to revenge. Perhaps Hamlet's revenge quest is really his way of dealing with grief and life's apparent meaninglessness; the supplanting of his father with an unworthy substitute; or insecurities about his own worthiness. You might also ponder the moment in which the ghost comes to Hamlet for the first time. Why does Hamlet need an external voice to tell him to take revenge? What does this say about his character and about the source of human action in general? What happens when a thoughtful character not suited for heroic action is thrust into that position? Are we all actors unsuited for our positions in life?

"The First Step in Solving a Problem is recognizing that it exists."
I can think of nine different types of essays you may be writing. Therefore, suggesting a thesis statement would not be productive since each type of essay may require a different approach.
However, these thoughts might guide you. Hamlet has been called the most influential play in the English language. Why? The play touches on the social skepticism of the time, especially in Denmark, with its political struggles; it addresses the religious changes going on at the moment; it is deeply philosophical, addressing strong oedipal issues, feminism, the contradictory nature within a person, and of course, suicidal ideation in a person to conflicted to commit.
This should provide fodder for a strong thesis statement regardless of the type of essay you ae writing.
