French became the language of the king's court and gradually blended with the Anglo-Saxon tongue to give birth to modern English.

France was seemingly continually embattled over time. One of the countries that fought long and hard for its acquisition was England. But when William the Conqueror, in French 'le Conquerant", took the throne of England in 1066 ,linguistically effected a strong combination of English and French to produce all the 'easy' French words that are written like English but are easily traceable to their French twist. Some examples: combination occasion danseur, danseuse acteur, actrice punctuation, to list a few.
