If this is the prompt given to you by your instructor, then what is being asked is that you write a NARRATIVE essay. Narratives can take many forms, but in this instance you should tell a personal experience. Narratives are best when they are highly descriptive. You must "paint a picture" for the reader so that they can experience what you experienced as closely as possible. This requires using sensory language, precise adjectives and imagery. Generally, these are written chronologically; however, I have seen some great narratives that take a more creative approach.
