In the play, "A Raisin in the Sun" by Lorraine Hansberry, Walter says that he "left his life in Bobo's hands" when he talks about giving Bobo his share of the insurance money that Mama gave him. Walter had dreams of opening a liquor store and becoming financially successful. However, Bobo runs off with the money leaving Walter and his family high and dry. Walter's dreams of becoming rich and no longer having to be a driver were ruined. To him, his chance at a full life was lost. He blames Bobo for this rather than taking the responsibility for investing in a scheme where he didn't have all of the information and trusting someone he shouldn't have in the first place.
