Why did Amnesty International object to the Chinese government's promotion of "reeducation through labor"?

Teddi D.

The re-education in question is not about improving the skill level of those being re-educated. There is no 'education. 'It is all torture. This is a tactic concocted to destroy groups that are somewhat different from the rest of China--a little more isolated and isolationist. China is out to destroy the identity and societal connections of Uighur Muslims living in Xinjiang, the northwest corner of China, near the Chinese-Kazakh border.

I concur with Teddi D. ;Re-education; is just another totalitarian euphemism for indoctrination; or mind-control of those who do not toe the Communist philosophy line and want to progress into the open-minded and inclusive world.
