Amnesty International looked beyond the title of the stated purpose of labor camps in China to the actual practices of how people were treated in these labor camps. It would be helpful to find some online information from Amnesty International's website about the actual conditions and treatment of people in China's labor camps to see what "reeducation" really meant in practice.

The re-education in question is not about improving the skill level of those being re-educated. There is no 'education. 'It is all torture. This is a tactic concocted to destroy groups that are somewhat different from the rest of China--a little more isolated and isolationist. China is out to destroy the identity and societal connections of Uighur Muslims living in Xinjiang, the northwest corner of China, near the Chinese-Kazakh border.11/14/22
