In my opinion, above all an English teacher need to realize that unlike mathematics, there are often more than one right answer to questions about English. This not only may include literary interpretation, but even grammar. While different grammatical forms may have slightly different meanings, many may be grammatically correct. The right version will be the one which accurate conveys the meaning intended by the author.
