Hi Steven,
I'm curious where you got the wording for this scale description, because it's a bit odd. When I try to write out a scale using those intervals, it doesn't quite make sense:
A Bb Db Ebb Fb Gbb Abb
Except for blues, pentatonic, etc scales where there are fewer than seven pitches, you usually want to represent each note name without skipping any--so it would all be 2nds. Plus, that's a whole lot of flats and difficult to follow. If we look at the enharmonic tones, it makes much more sense:
A Bb C D E F G (A)
This is a natural minor scale with a lowered second, which is the Phrygian mode. Minor 2nd, major 2nd, major 2nd, major 2nd, minor 2nd, major 2nd.
